About

The municipality of Juban was first organized as a barrio of Casiguran town in 1759. It was later recognized as an independent "pueblo civil" in 1800. Effective July 29, 2008, it was classified as a fourth class municipality by the Bureau of Local Governance Finance (BLGF) Memorandum Circular 01-M (68)-08 dated November 15, 2008.

Juban lies about four (4) kilometers south of Casiguran and Sorsogon Bay while 23 kilometers from the provincial Capitol of Sorsogon. On its 10,170 hectares land area reside its more or less 30,000 inhabitants distributed among its twenty (25) organized villages (barangays) including the Poblacion. This town was noted to having abundance in Copra, Abaca and Aquaculture products imminent when Gujuban Festival was first launched in 2014.

The municipality of Juban is headed by its Local Chief Executive, Mayor Antonio H. Alindogan who is serving his first term as mayor. While the Legislative department of Juban LGU is presided by Vice Mayor Manuel Olondriz IV, also a first-termer.

Alindogan strives hard to uplift the plight of his constituents in Juban committed to accomplishing his goal through good governance. He always wanted to provide Jubangnon the best services a government could afford. In less than three years, he already proved that the Local Government can do much with resources so little.

The neophyte mayor took advantage of his wide connection in business and government sector to bring in more projects and other services that the LGU is lacking.

Coming from private sector as a season and successful businessman, Alindogan showed Jubangnon a different approach in local governance, a non-traditional approach.

Many times his administration were compounded by unforeseen events such as calamities like flood & Volcanic eruption, the usual government troops and rebels arm confrontation putting civilians in harms way and the constant prying of political rivals. But Alindogan withstood his ground and never lost track. He persevered more to achieve his dream for a better Juban.

Because of such persistence, many programs and projects have been accomplished and many are still underway. The mayor believed that the people knows better and feels how their hometown have transform so swiftly in a span of years.#
